This invitation-only workshop brings together scientists from the five DOE Office of Science Nanoscale Science Research Centers to discuss recent developments in nanoparticle synthesis, characterization, modeling, and assembly for explorations of functionality in clean energy and other applications. The technical program consists of invited lectures and a poster session. Discussion of future areas of cooperation and the formulation of complementary user capabilities between the centers will be important components of the workshop. The sessions concentrate on:
Synthesis and Assembly
Characterization and Properties of Nanoscale Particles and Assemblies
Bio-functional Materials
