Renewable Energy Focus Cover March-April 2011With its SunShot program, the U.S. Department of Energy has committed to the goal of a cost of $1 per watt of delivered solar power by 2017. Energy Secretary Steven Chu introduced the program on February 4, 2011. His desire for this program is to help restore innovation and reestablish U.S. leadership in the solar industry.

Seth Darling, Electronic & Magnetic Materials and Devices Group, acts as the solar energy strategy leader at Argonne. He is quoted on pages 24-25 of the following article regarding Argonne's next-generation photovoltaic programs.
