Access to CNM

An authorized official from every user institution must sign a User Agreement (UA) before user projects can begin. Every user will sign a User Agreement Acknowledgement form upon arriving at the facility to perform work.

1. You must be registered to work at the CNM and have an accepted proposal.
• Return the user agreement questionnaire provided with your notification letter.
• Read Preparing for Your Visit (44kb pdf) and review Working at CNM.
• Schedule an experiment time with your CNM contact.
• Inform the User Administrator as soon as your experiment time is confirmed.
• Ensure that all colleagues visiting Argonne have registered.
• Arrange for delivery of samples and materials.
• Make your hotel reservation.
• Send your itinerary to the User Administrator.
2. Complete the safety review (coordinated by the User Office). Allow time to take any additional safety training courses upon arrival at the CNM.
3. Take the online core training courses for Argonne facility users. (You must have an Argonne badge to sign in to the online system.)
4. To access Argonne National Laboratory and the CNM, bring two pieces of identification (e.g., driver’s license, photo ID, and/or passport).
